9. The Church of St. Barbara

One of the oldest churches in Nysa dates back to the Middle Ages. It is located near the mediaeval walls and formerly served as a chapel of St. Barbara’s Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the town. It is a Gothic building with a later Baroque vestibule joined on. The fate of this church was connected with the order of the Franciscans; in the 19th century it was passed over to the evangelicals and still belongs to them today.
